Hickory Hickory Dock

You can use this craft to teach your child the nursery rhyme tune and lyrics, animal names, identifying numerals, and counting to twelve. Your child is also using fine motor skills when coloring, cutting, and spinning the paperclip. Your child could move the paper clip in number order starting with one, or your child could spin the paperclip to see which number it lands on. We sing the verse the paper clip is on.

Teaching Tip: If you have multiple kiddos at different ages, you can use the same resource to teach at different levels. Let's use this resource as an example. If you had a toddler learning animal sounds and a preschooler learning to count, with each spin review both! The older child almost always wants to help the younger one. It make him or her feel important and big!

Encouragement: Education for littles should be songs, games, rhymes, exploring, and fun!
